Delta's Crown Room Club

I'm currently sitting at the Crown Room Club at Atlanta's International Airport. I'm flying Delta to Shannon Airport in Ireland and so far, so good. I wasn't able to score an upgrade to Business Class, so I'll just be cramped on row 19. The crazy thing is, row 19 doesn't exist on this type of aircraft, according to SeatGuru.com. So, I am a bit worried, but they wouldn't sell a ticket for a seat that doesn't exist, would they?

Ah, the life of a travelwriter. Delta seems to treat travel writers as if they don't exist, either. Numerous emails for an interview on Podtrippin went unanswered. I guess the media peeps were too busy negotiating a new pilot's union contract. Hmmm?

The Pinot Grigio served at the Crown Room is exceptional. Did you know that this place even offers showers to travelers? I guess that would come in handy if you are going straight to a meeting or something.

By the way, I want to congratulate our listeners, the new Mr. & Mrs. Jason C Webb who celebrated their nuptuals last night. The libations and entertainment were outstanding. Congratulations to the happy couple.

More updates to come soon on location in Ireland's NW Coast.

Ireland

It looks like I may be traveling to Ireland at the end of April. I'm going to focus on the NW region for this visit and maybe there will be an adventure or two I can podcast about. If anyone knows of some great place that I need to put on my itinerary, please let me know.

The Wanderer

I recently joined in as a content producer for the Podcast News Network. I will be releasing a five minute travel news show similar to NPR style. It won't be like PodTrippin. Its just the facts. The show is called The Wanderer and was featured on iTunes.

Vancouver, BC

My recent visit to Vancouver was full of pleasant surprises. I stayed at the Listel Hotel, in one of the Museum Rooms, which is decorated with art by local BC artists. The room was clean and contemporary. They have high-speed internet service in the rooms through Fat Port, but you can check your email in the lobby for no charge.

The hotel offers a complimentary wine tasting on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6pm. Its a great way to unwind and meet a few other hotel guests. There was an agriculture conference going on in Vancouver, so in attendance were a few asparagus farmers who were lodging at the Listel.

Vancouver is a cosmopolitan city filled with epicurian delights and art for the soul. The Vancouver International Sculpture Biennale offers a fantastic approach to enjoying Vancouver in a leisurely way. The Biennale has more than 20 sculptures available for viewing along the beaches, bike and walking paths of Vancouver's waterfront parks, downtown plazas, and Granville Island.
